In January 2023, Resonac Graphite Japan was launched within the Resonac Group for further promoting the global business structure of the graphite electrode business. Resonac’s graphite business not only operates global production and sales activities in three regions around the world (Asia, Americas, and EMEA), but has expanded into comprehensive steel industry services through our acquisition of AMI Automation in 2023. AMI isa digital solutions company headquartered in Monterrey, Mexico and they specialize in optimizing efficiency of electric arc furnaces (EAFs). Resonac Graphite Japan is responsible for the overall function of the Asian business, as well as the key management function of the global graphite electrode business.
Located in the nature-rich city of Omachi, Nagano, we have our very own eco-friendly hydroelectric power plant and water supply system. This system serves as agricultural and firefighting resources for the local community. The continual support from the local community, customers, and business partners has been instrumental in the success of our graphite electrode business since its inception in 1938.
As the urgency to combat global warming increases around the world, the expansion of low-carbon emission electric furnace steel production is expected to increase. Graphite electrodes play a crucial role in this process, and by providing high quality products around the world, RGBU actively contributes to sustaining economic development (SDGs).
